Trusting God During Uncertainty - Devotional

Updated: Jan 17

Series: Building Our Relationship with God

Proverbs 3:5-6 quote on trust in God, set on a floral background with teal, pink, and gold accents. Mood is peaceful and inspiring.

Trust is essential for a healthy relationship. We build our relationship with God when we trust Him, particularly in times of uncertainty. In fact, trusting God when tempted to waver due to uncertain times strengthens our relationship with Him. Trusting God when what we see, feel or experience contradicts God's Word is called faith. It is impossible to please God without it (Hebrews 11:6).

We can build our capacity to trust God by anchoring ourselves in His Word. The Scriptures remind us of God's promises; they guide us when life feels uncertain. It is difficult to trust God without knowing what He says or what He is like. This is one reason it is so important to engage with the Word of God regularly. Read it, meditate on it, study it, memorise it, write it out and apply it. Your trust in God will grow and become as a stabilising force in and through any season of life. Like a shield (Ephesians 6:16) it will protect you during attacks so that you remain safe and secure.

Building Challenge: Spend at least 15 minutes reading the Bible each day this week, focusing on passages that affirm God’s faithfulness, guidance and protection. There are so many more than the ones selected below!
