As humans, we can be called something even if we do not display that characteristic all the time. Not so with God. God is love so God's every move is consistent with His loving nature. Love is God's "why", as we see in John 3:16. We do not have to wonder about God's underlying motive. It's love. Always.
God is also Faithful. This means God can be trusted because He does not change. There is no love we can trust as much as God's love. This is a reason to give God thanks as Psalm 136:26 expresses.
Reflect on how you see God as you read this week's Scriptures. Thank God for His ever-enduring love. Meditate on these passages until you truly know "that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations" - Deuteronomy 7:9 ESV
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you know God is Love as you Write the Scriptures below:
John 3:16
"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
1 John 4:16
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.
Deuteronomy 7:9
Know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keep his commandments, to a thousand generations
Psalm 86:15
But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness.
Psalm 136:26
Give thanks to the God of heaven, for his steadfast love endures forever.
Romans 8:38-39
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
